Moray Gaelic Group

Moray Gaelic Group (MGG) is an organization dedicated to growing knowledge of the Gaelic language and culture in the Moray community. We have four stated objectives:

  • To preserve and foster the learning of the Gaelic Language.
  • To promote and provide training and skills in the speaking, reading and writing of the Gaelic Language.
  • To provide information for all concerned with Gaelic and Gaelic culture.
  • To encourage members to attend Gaelic Language day courses in Moray and the Highlands run by professional advisers.
Who is Moray Gaelic Group

The Moray Gaelic Group (MGG) is the founding organization behind Gaelic in Moray. The MGG was chartered in 2013. A copy of the group’s Constitution can be found here. We have an all-volunteer committee of 5 members which includes 3 officers who are voted on each year.

Practical information – meetings

The MGG meets regularly (approximately quarterly) online to discuss promotion for Gaelic in Moray, Gaelic community events and programming and vote on Moray Gaelic Group official business.

As of 2026, the officers and committee members are:

The MGG is funded through course fees, private donations, and grants.
